Liability for content

Reports are submitted anonymously by users. They constitute third-party content within the meaning of Section 10 DDG. We do not carry out general monitoring of submissions, and we give no warranty as to the accuracy of the reported locations or descriptions. As soon as we become aware of a specific infringement, we remove the content in question without undue delay.

Unlawful or inaccurate content can be reported at any time, informally, to info@stickermap.de (notice and action mechanism pursuant to Article 16 DSA). We confirm receipt and communicate our decision.

Liability for links

External links were checked at the time they were added. We have no influence over subsequent changes to linked content, and permanent monitoring is not reasonable absent concrete indications of an infringement. We remove links upon becoming aware of any violation of law.

Moderation and removal of entries

Submitted reports are checked for plausibility. We remove in particular entries that

• are obviously fabricated or submitted abusively,

• show or name identifiable individuals,

• themselves disseminate inhumane content rather than documenting it,

• are unlawful or infringe the rights of third parties.

Reasons for a removal decision are provided on request, insofar as the submitting person can be contacted (Article 17 DSA).

Legal note – depiction of anti-constitutional symbols

StickerMap depicts inhumane, anti-constitutional and far-right symbols, stickers and lettering solely for the purpose of documentation and public education. The platform aims to make the spread of such symbolism in public space visible and thereby contribute to countering it. The platform does not disseminate inhumane, anti-constitutional or far-right content and expressly distances itself from the symbols shown and the ideology behind them.

Under the settled case law of the German Federal Court of Justice, the use of a symbol does not fulfil the elements of Section 86a of the German Criminal Code (StGB) where the context of the depiction expresses opposition to the organisation and the rejection of its ideology in an obvious and unambiguous manner. In addition, the social adequacy clause under Section 86a (3) in conjunction with Section 86 (4) StGB applies where the depiction serves – as it does here – civic education, the countering of anti-constitutional activities, or reporting on current affairs. In the operator's assessment, these conditions are met for the documentation published on StickerMap.

StickerMap is a non-commercial project. The source code is not publicly licensed – please get in touch if you are interested in collaborating.
