— StickerMapHateful, anti-constitutional and far-right stickers and symbols do not disappear on their own. They are ignored, normalised, overlooked. StickerMap is a response: we make visible what is there – and create the basis for acting against it.
Every report is a political act. Whoever photographs and registers a sticker says: this is not normal, this is not okay, I am not looking away and I am against it. Together this creates a picture of reality that was previously invisible. Anyone can take part – regardless of conviction, appearance or party affiliation, as long as it is against the far right.
Actively covering up and removing is the most important response – and StickerMap helps coordinate it. Every visible piece of far-right ideology can offer a politically uncertain person a pseudo-simple answer to societal problems and further divide society by stirring up fear and hatred. Fear has never been a rational or fair decision-maker. Those who do not act potentially enable this. Get active – now!
No registration, no login and no storage of personal data – that is not just a feature but a political decision. We want to grant everyone the same safety: nobody should have to be afraid to get active. And it is not only about protecting people – saving resources through lower energy consumption, because nothing is stored, is an important aspect too!
This map is not filled top-down but by everyone – which strengthens the legitimacy of the data. Everyone who is out and about can get active. There are no detached financial interests and no advertising algorithms. Every report is worth the same – and worth noticing!
About the initiative
StickerMap
StickerMap is an independent citizens' initiative. We believe that fighting hatred, anti-constitutional extremism and far-right extremism takes visibility, commitment and consistent action.
Born out of personal shock, through party-political work all the way to the final implementation – all real. The project was originally meant as private documentation: early on I started photographing stickers I spotted and sharing them with friends. There were even joint clean-up actions. But organisation was always lacking – and so the idea of StickerMap was born. After some research and a few attempts, the first successes followed. Everything still runs privately on a personal server in the broom closet. When the first support comes in, it will go directly or indirectly back into the project.
